My first post on my blog! Exciting!

I recently became a member of Glossybox.com, after watching various vloggers on youtube talk about it - I hate missing out. August 2012 was the first box I received and I thought, being my first blog post and my first glossy box... I would combine and review:

http://www.glossybox.co.uk/

I received my box in some lovely packaging, The pink inside box is quite durable and I have currently started using it to store my hair bobbles/pins in, so I have to admit I was rather impressed before I opened the box. The contents I received were as follows:

1. Lipcote (rrp £3.99) - now I was a tad gutted at first when I seen this product, as I know I can buy this from Superdrug and I wanted to try things I generally wouldn't have known about. But after using this product I am a convert. My lipstick stayed put for an entire working day, which is unknown of. It does actually sting slightly when you first put it on, so if you have cold sores or cuts I would not recommend this.

2. Alessandro Pro White (rrp £7.85) - admittedly I am not a major nail varnish person. I tend to pay someone else to do them and be done with it. But I do have a real issue with my feet, and having a pedicure is one of the worst things I put myself through. When I received this product I decided to give my tootsies I go, and see what I can do, and I was pleasantly surprised. The blue colour of this polish really makes my nails shine like no other, and (although I am not sure whether it is this, or the models own nail polish I used under) it lasts ages without chipping. I am very impressed, and for under £8, I will definitely be buying this when I run out.

3. Eve's Balm (rrp £4.95) - the second lip product I received was actually a charity product, which was lovely. Now I had never heard of this charity before, let alone their make up range, but I am definitely going to buy some of their little gift sets as stock fillers for Christmas. The lip balm came in a lovely clip packet, with a built in mirror, smelt lovely and I generally enjoyed this product. I can't say it has made my lips feel softer, but it does feel nice on and gives my lips a lovely shine.  http://www.allforeve.co.uk/

4. Glossybox lipstick in Glossy Pink (rrp £9.50) - well, where to start? This product was actually broken before I had a chance to use it, but I decided to give it a go with a lipstick brush. This has got to be one of the driest lipsticks I have used! I would not use this again even if glossy box began paying me!

5. DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (rrp £18.50) - I am very impressed with this product, it does exactly what it says on the tin, it is truly magnificent at removing make up. However I cannot justify spending almost twenty pound when boots/superdrug sell simple make up remover for a couple of quid. I will however be taking this on my wedding/honeymoon as a touch of luxury for my big day.

6. Vera Valenti L'ombre a Paupiere Margarita (rrp £3.85) - I have save the best (well the worst actually) for last. I cannot believe this product made its way into a glossybox!!!!! I recall having a similar eye-shadow palette to this when I was a child, which was used on my huge 'make me up' Barbie head. The colours included on this palette are vile, I have swabbed a few, but have no desire to put this on my face. The packaging is cheap, nasty and plain vile. Apologies to anybody who liked this product, but in the same breath I would like to tell you to have a good look in the mirror before you leave the house. Please...?

Generally, although there has been some bad comments, I am looking forward to my next Glossybox. I did email Glossybox to inform them that my lipstick was broken, and I am being sent a new one (although I don't actually want another one, it was purely the principal).
Unfortunately Glossybox have recently updated their website, but until this change I was able to go on the site and look at previous months boxes - and there have been some amazing products that I am gutted I don't own. *Fingers crossed* Septembers box will be fab!

I am currently undecided whether or not to become a member of Joliebox, if anyone has any opinions or is a member please tweet me as I would love some advice!
